AU-ABC links Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) students and their Associate in Applied Science (AAS) graduates to accredited partner civilian colleges and universities that offer online baccalaureate degree opportunities. AU-ABC offers Air Force active duty, reserve and Air National Guard members an opportunity to earn a bachelors degree at partnering schools by completing no more than 60 additional semester hours (which is equivalent to 90 quarter hours) beyond their CCAF AAS degree in most cases.
The University of Northwestern Ohio offers a special military rate at $165 per credit hour for our service members.
The Bachelors of Applied Science in Specialized Studies allows a student with an earned associate's degree in one major to complete the last two years of a baccalaureate degree. For example, a student with an associate's degree from CCAF could complete the last two years of the Bachelor's of Science in Specialized Studies-Business Administration option.
The degree is a Category I AU-ABC program. CCAF graduates will need no more than 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) to complete The University of Northwestern Ohio's B.S. AU-ABC program.
Special Note: EN200 Composition II is a prerequisite to several 300 and 400 level courses in the specialized studies degree. The specialized studies degree requires students to write research papers. This class is imperative to learn how to write them properly.
Algebra MH190 is the foundation of Finite Mathematics MH310 for the Specialized Studies degree. Students with a CCAF Associate degree who do not have a background in Algebra are recommended to take this course.
Deficiency courses such as EN200 or MH190 are lower level and do not apply toward the 90 required upper level credit hours for the bachelor's degree.
