Student Medical Needs

Whom do I call for medical assistance or advice?

UNOH students are given a unique Call-a-nurse phone number that alerts hospital staff that you are a UNOH student. The Call-a-nurse number is (419) 226-HELP (4357). Nurses staff the phones 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At no charge, these nurses will provide students with timely, accurate information on thousands of medical concerns, direct them to educational programs, make referrals to community services, and help them find the doctor who best fits their health needs.

Will the Westside Urgent Care accept my insurance?

St. Rita’s Westside Urgent Care accepts all insurance. Due to the fact that all insurance providers apply benefits differently, it is the patient’s responsibility to check with their insurance carrier to make sure St. Rita’s is covered.

Where can I seek medical care?

Students can seek medical care at St. Rita’s Westside Urgent Care location, less than 1 mile from campus at 2195 Allentown Road. If medical needs are more serious and a visit to the emergency room is necessary, St. Rita’s Medical Center is 2.5 miles away at 730 West Market Street. The Westside Urgent Care is open from 8am-8pm, Monday - Saturday.

What do I need to bring with me when I need medical attention?

All students must bring their UNOH Student ID with them when seeking medical care at St. Rita’s Westside Urgent Care location. Students should also have the following information with them: Date of Birth, Social Security number, any medical history (allergies, medications, etc), and money for co-pay if required by insurance carrier. If no co-pay is required – a $15 point of service collection is taken upon registration. If you have insurance – please bring your insurance card or a copy of the insurance card.

What if I have limited funds or don’t have insurance?

St. Rita’s is a not-for-profit institution. They have many charity or discount programs due to this status. The billing statement from St. Rita’s has an application on the back of it for these programs. All patients are encouraged to apply regardless of whether they have insurance or not. Eligibility is based on income. Students need to fill out the back of the statement and mail it in with their proof of income, if applicable. The application will be processed by St. Rita’s financial counseling team and you will be notified by mail if you qualify for a charity program or not.
